What recent protest? Most recent protest is so called "Blank paper revolution" during tail time of COVID (half years ago). At that time a lot of people start to hating quarantine policy. And "some people" used this opportunity to started the "Blank paper revolution".

The "Blank paper" idea is from the anti war protest of Russia, Some people get arrested because of raising blank people on Moscow and it having a huge sarcastic meaning toward government.

The "blank paper revolution" didn't last so long time, Because more of more people realized it was stagged from over sea organizations. A lot of leaked video shows that how they talking about "salary of protest" and Taiwan, HK protest experts speeches. And of course a lot of wrong accents appears on very wrong cities (viraly become jokes on internet).

It was true bunch of people start to unhappy with quarantine but most of people more hate been used as anti-China tools. Few days later so called "Blank paper revolution" done. And government canceled zero COVID policy.

As my opinion, Government was so afraid to cancel this policy before because it looks like contempt for life. And the "Revolution" gave a opportunity to government to cancel it.

Information war is also kind of war. During Arab Spring a lot of countries had revolution, happened a lot of big events and the people's life changed forever. Power of defence of information invasion is also an important ability.
